Last week I made a trip to see the Grand Babies. Loved seeing the Ozark Mountains and the beautiful rivers and lakes. We meet after school for a pizza party and bowling.

Hand-Foot Syndrome

What is hand-foot syndrome?

Also called hand-foot syndrome or hand-to-foot syndrome, Palmar-Plantar Erythrodysesthesia is a side effect, which can occur with several types of chemotherapy or biologic therapy drugs used to treat cancer. For example, Capecitabine (Xeloda^®), 5-Flurouracil (5FU), continuous-infusion doxorubicin, doxorubicin liposomal (Doxil^®), and high-dose Interleukin-2 can cause this skin reaction for some patients. Following administration of chemotherapy, small amounts of drug leak out of very small blood vessels called capillaries in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Exposure of your hands and feet to heat as well as friction on your palms and soles increases the amount of drug in the capillaries and increases the amount of drug leakage. This leakage of drug results in redness, tenderness, and possibly peeling of the palms and soles. The redness, also known as palmar-plantar erythema, looks like sunburn. The areas affected can become dry and peel, with numbness or tingling developing. Hand-foot syndrome can be uncomfortable and can interfere with your ability to carry out normal activities.

Last month we spent a day in Galveston Texas. This is such a great Historic town. We went to the museum and watch the documentary of the great Storm. Galveston has had many storms, I'm amazed at the old homes and Hotels that have survived it so far!!

Thanksgiving 2011 was celebrated in Tyler texas!!! We has lots of the family present and some that could not make it,,, the food was wonderful and we had a fun filled day of eating visiting and watching the games!!!!

We have had such a busy week of packing and getting ready to move. I cant say thank you enough to all the people that helped pack, clean, store, cook, and help with the moving sale.

I got to see Logan Saturday and Sunday. He is growing so fast,,, we were playing a game,,, every 5 minutes I told him I needed a hug and smooch!!!! He loved it,,, sometimes I would just say Logan and he would come running to give me a big kiss other times he would remember and come and find me and say its 5 minutes!!!!! SMOOCH!!!!

Charis was playing with sidewalk chalk,,, she didn't like the sidewalk so she drew on the deck!!!! Oh well the rain will wash it away meanwhile I get to see the smiley faces she drew on the deck!!!! She loves Nana to take her picture!!!!

No trip to Bull Shoals is complete without a boat ride. Jim and Mary enjoyed the beautiful water and warm sunshine as Clint navigated the pontoon!!

Eva and Clint had a great time this weekend. They went trout fishing on the White River Saturday and had a great time with Unc.

Blessings come in many forms and I have been surrounded by so many. Family and friends that have helped me thru the roughest time of my life offer such warmth and comfort. That's how amazing our God is!!! He said Ill never leave you nor forsake you. Others in this world cant make that promise but God does!!!

My daughter brings me so much joy each day. She is super sweet and compassionate about her mother!! She is the one that is always there for me. Chase has come to spend time with me and take me to my chemo treatment this week. He has the funniest personality makes me laugh. We took scenic hwy 7 to Russelville today... No camera :{,,, the Arkansas Grand canyon is absolutely breath taking. God knows every rock on the hills and every need in our body. All we have to do is ASK!!

A Perfect Sunday!!

I have had an amazing Sunday!!! We had a great service at church, it amazing how God is working in my life. After church I spent time with Chuck and Brittany Logan and Charis. The weather is so beautiful,,, sunny and a high in the 90's.

Today is the last day before Logan starts first Grade. This summer really seams to have flown by. With all the traveling that Ive been doing during treatments and getting Eva Lauren ready for college I feel that its almost over!!!

I love all my grandbabies,,, they are such a blessing!!!!

Having my blood work drawn tomorrow to see if I will have Chemotheraphy on Tuesday. Feeling really tired this week. I have rested well and had great friends to SPOIL me rotten!!! Mom and Dad got to take a break from me and relax in Texas with our wonderful family... ( miss ya)

Wow ,,, where did the summer go?? We have had another great summer on the lake, I cant believe that its time to go back to school but they start back next week.

I have had 3 doses of Zometa and now I an having the side effects associated with this drug!!!! Jaw pain!!!!!

ZOMETA is a treatment that can reduce and delay bone complications. ZOMETA has treated over 3.8 million patients with bone metastases and bone complications from multiple myeloma worldwide in more than 9 years of real-world experience.
Important Safety Information

Do not use ZOMETA if you have had a severe allergic reaction to zoledronic acid or any components of ZOMETA. These reactions, including rare cases of hives and angioedema (swelling often near your eyes and lips), and very rare cases of life-threatening allergic reactions, have been reported. ZOMETA is in a class of drugs called bisphosphonates, and contains the same active ingredient as that found in Reclast® (zoledronic acid). If you are treated with ZOMETA, you should not be treated with Reclast.

If you have HCM, you should drink plenty of clear fluids before using ZOMETA. If you have kidney problems, tell your doctor. The risk of adverse reactions (especially related to the kidney) may be greater for you. ZOMETA treatment is not for patients with severe kidney problems. Patients with kidney problems on multiple cycles of ZOMETA or other bisphosphonates are at greater risk for further kidney problems. It is important to get your blood tests while you are receiving ZOMETA. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function before each dose. Tell your doctor if you are on other drugs, including aminoglycosides, loop diuretics, and drugs which may be harmful to the kidney.

Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) has been reported mainly in cancer patients treated with intravenous bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Many of these patients were also receiving anti-cancer drugs and corticosteroids, which may make it more likely to get ONJ. If you have advanced breast cancer or a type of cancer called multiple myeloma, or if you have had dental extraction, periodontal disease, local trauma, including poorly fitting dentures, you may be at greater risk of getting ONJ. Many reports of ONJ involved patients with signs of local infection, including bone/bone marrow inflammation. You should maintain good oral hygiene and have a dental examination with preventive dentistry prior to beginning ZOMETA. While on treatment, avoid invasive dental procedures, if possible, as recovery may take longer. If you develop ONJ while on bisphosphonate therapy, dental surgery may worsen the condition. If you require dental procedures, there are no data available to suggest whether stopping ZOMETA treatment reduces the risk of ONJ. A causal relationship between bisphosphonate use and ONJ has not been established. Based on your condition, your doctor will determine the treatment plan you will receive.

Do not use ZOMETA if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or if you are breast-feeding.

Severe and occasionally incapacitating bone, joint, and/or muscle pain has been reported in patients taking bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Do not continue using ZOMETA if severe symptoms develop, as some patients had the symptoms reappear after taking ZOMETA or another bisphosphonate again. In aspirin sensitive patients, bronchoconstriction (tightening of the airways in the lungs) has been observed while taking bisphosphonates.

If you are an HCM patient with liver problems, talk to your doctor about whether ZOMETA is appropriate for you.

HCM patients may experience flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, flushing, bone pain and/or joint or muscle pain). Common side effects in HCM patients include fever, nausea, constipation, anemia, shortness of breath, diarrhea, abdominal pain, worsening of cancer, insomnia, vomiting, anxiety, urinary tract infection, low phosphate levels, confusion, agitation, a fungal infection called moniliasis, low potassium levels, coughing, skeletal pain, low blood pressure, and low magnesium levels. Redness and swelling may occur at the site that you are injected.

Common side effects for patients with multiple myeloma and bone metastases due to solid tumors include bone pain, nausea, fatigue, anemia, fever, vomiting, constipation, shortness of breath, diarrhea, weakness, muscle pain, anorexia, cough, joint pain, lower-limb swelling, worsening of your cancer, headache, dizziness (excluding vertigo), insomnia, decreased weight, back pain, numbness/tingling, and abdominal pain. These side effects are listed regardless of any potential association with the medications used in registration studies of ZOMETA in bone metastases patients.

Eye-related side effects may occur with bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Cases of swelling related to fluid build-up in the eye, as well as inflammation of the uvea, sclera, episclera, conjunctiva, and iris of the eye have been reported.

Patients with multiple myeloma and bone metastases from solid tumors should be taking an oral calcium supplement of 500 mg and a multiple vitamin containing 400 IU of vitamin D daily.

Immune system

The complex system by which the body resists infection by germs, such as bacteria or viruses, and rejects transplanted tissues or organs. The immune system may also help the body fight some cancers.
MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging; a procedure that uses magnetism, radio waves and computer to produce images of the body.
Metastasis

Cancer cells that have spread to one or more sites elsewhere in the body, often by way of the lymph system or bloodstream. Regional or local metastasis is cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes, tissues, or organs close to the primary site. Distant metastasis is cancer that has spread to organs or tissues that are farther away (such as when prostate cancer spreads to the bones, lungs, or liver). The plural of this word is metastases.
Multiple myeloma

Cancer resulting from abnormal plasma cells multiplying and occupying space in the bone marrow.
Myalgia

Pain in a muscle or group of muscles.
Neoplasm

Tumor; any new and abnormal growth, specifically one in which cell multiplication is uncontrolled and progressive. Neoplasms may be benign or malignant.

Pressure on the spinal cord resulting from factors external to the cord itself. It can result from bone metastases to the spinal column that encases the cord or from infections in the space between the cord and the spinal column.
Vitamin D

A generic term for all steroids exhibiting the biological activity of ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) or cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). They promote the proper utilization of calcium and phosphorous. Since these compounds are synthesized in human tissues, they are more properly referred to as hormones rather than vitamins.
White blood cell

Blood cells that help defend the body against infections. There are many types of white blood cells. Certain cancer treatments such as chemotherapy can reduce the number of these cells and make a person more likely to get infections.

Indication

ZOMETA (zoledronic acid) 4 mg/5 mL Injection is a treatment for hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM; a condition resulting in high calcium blood levels due to cancer). ZOMETA is also used to reduce and delay bone complications due to multiple myeloma and bone metastases from solid tumors; used with anti-cancer medicines. ZOMETA is not an anti-cancer therapy. If you have prostate cancer, you should have failed treatment with at least one hormonal therapy prior to taking ZOMETA.

Important Safety Information

Do not use ZOMETA if you have had a severe allergic reaction to zoledronic acid or any components of ZOMETA. These reactions, including rare cases of hives and angioedema (swelling often near your eyes and lips), and very rare cases of life-threatening allergic reactions, have been reported. ZOMETA is in a class of drugs called bisphosphonates, and contains the same active ingredient as that found in Reclast® (zoledronic acid). If you are treated with ZOMETA, you should not be treated with Reclast.

If you have HCM, you should drink plenty of clear fluids before using ZOMETA. If you have kidney problems, tell your doctor. The risk of adverse reactions (especially related to the kidney) may be greater for you. ZOMETA treatment is not for patients with severe kidney problems. Patients with kidney problems on multiple cycles of ZOMETA or other bisphosphonates are at greater risk for further kidney problems. It is important to get your blood tests while you are receiving ZOMETA. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function before each dose. Tell your doctor if you are on other drugs, including aminoglycosides, loop diuretics, and drugs which may be harmful to the kidney.

Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) has been reported mainly in cancer patients treated with intravenous bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Many of these patients were also receiving anti-cancer drugs and corticosteroids, which may make it more likely to get ONJ. If you have advanced breast cancer or a type of cancer called multiple myeloma, or if you have had dental extraction, periodontal disease, local trauma, including poorly fitting dentures, you may be at greater risk of getting ONJ. Many reports of ONJ involved patients with signs of local infection, including bone/bone marrow inflammation. You should maintain good oral hygiene and have a dental examination with preventive dentistry prior to beginning ZOMETA. While on treatment, avoid invasive dental procedures, if possible, as recovery may take longer. If you develop ONJ while on bisphosphonate therapy, dental surgery may worsen the condition. If you require dental procedures, there are no data available to suggest whether stopping ZOMETA treatment reduces the risk of ONJ. A causal relationship between bisphosphonate use and ONJ has not been established. Based on your condition, your doctor will determine the treatment plan you will receive.

Do not use ZOMETA if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or if you are breast-feeding.

Severe and occasionally incapacitating bone, joint, and/or muscle pain has been reported in patients taking bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Do not continue using ZOMETA if severe symptoms develop, as some patients had the symptoms reappear after taking ZOMETA or another bisphosphonate again. In aspirin sensitive patients, bronchoconstriction (tightening of the airways in the lungs) has been observed while taking bisphosphonates.

If you are an HCM patient with liver problems, talk to your doctor about whether ZOMETA is appropriate for you.

HCM patients may experience flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, flushing, bone pain and/or joint or muscle pain). Common side effects in HCM patients include fever, nausea, constipation, anemia, shortness of breath, diarrhea, abdominal pain, worsening of cancer, insomnia, vomiting, anxiety, urinary tract infection, low phosphate levels, confusion, agitation, a fungal infection called moniliasis, low potassium levels, coughing, skeletal pain, low blood pressure, and low magnesium levels. Redness and swelling may occur at the site that you are injected.

Common side effects for patients with multiple myeloma and bone metastases due to solid tumors include bone pain, nausea, fatigue, anemia, fever, vomiting, constipation, shortness of breath, diarrhea, weakness, muscle pain, anorexia, cough, joint pain, lower-limb swelling, worsening of your cancer, headache, dizziness (excluding vertigo), insomnia, decreased weight, back pain, numbness/tingling, and abdominal pain. These side effects are listed regardless of any potential association with the medications used in registration studies of ZOMETA in bone metastases patients.

Eye-related side effects may occur with bisphosphonates, including ZOMETA. Cases of swelling related to fluid build-up in the eye, as well as inflammation of the uvea, sclera, episclera, conjunctiva, and iris of the eye have been reported.

Patients with multiple myeloma and bone metastases from solid tumors should be taking an oral calcium supplement of 500 mg and a multiple vitamin containing 400 IU of vitamin D daily.

I dont know how many year I have passed the sign to this natural bridge. Never taking the time to stop and take a look at this amazing natural scenery. Why do we get in such a hurry with everyday life to enjoy the beauty that God had has created.

Inside the park was an old still that represented some of Arkansas history from 100 years ago. I was amaqzed and the well built structure that was so compact and cozy!!!!

This week Eva and Nolen drove to Little Rock with me for my chemo treatment. When they got my lab results I wasn't able to have chemo this week due to low blood count. Bummer,,,( not that I really want to have the treatments) sooo.... we did a little shopping, saw Judy while she was in the hospital and headed back to the mountains to enjoy the rest of our week..

I had such a great week. I feel blessed and grateful for all the things that are happening in my life at this point. I could be down and depressed but I would be wasting time that I could be doing something fun and rewarding.

This week Pete and Honey took Mom and I to a great place on the Texas Beach,,, we went crabbing,,, this is my First crab that I caught!!! It was so exciting,,, these crabs are really mean!!!!

We enjoyed the full moon, the sunset was amazing!!

AWWWWW My favorite day!!!! the left me at the beach,,,, we had spent several hours but I wasn't quite ready to go,,,, soooo the left me!!!!

I walked and sang as loud as I could,,,, did I mention I loved it!!!! Then I picked up trash that was scattered along the way!!!! There was no one in sight!!!

Hello everyone...I am in Tyler Texas my home town and the Rose Capital of America. It feels good to be back to spend time with family that I haven't seen in years!!!! Kelli and I have had a great weekend,, we went to Houston this past weekend and ate a Joe's Crab shack and listened t the band play. I spent the weekend with some of the best Seafood you could imagine.... Aprils wedding Shower was this weekend so we had a Shrimp and Crayfish Boil!!!! It was at Pete and Honeys poolside and amazing,,, the DJ was wonderful.

This week is for some serious R&R with Kelli we had Mani, pedi today and tomorrow I have a date with the POOL!!!! Schautzie has been my perfect companion.

I apologize for no pic,,,, but Darell took both laptops with him so I'm borrowing Kellies and cant download my photos,,, but when I do I have so many to show you!!!

This weekend we are going to Galveston Island to play on the Beach,,,and the Monday I have to step back into reality world and have Chemotherapy. Oh well it could be worse,,,,, I'm still so excited that the scars tissue are shrinking!!!!! God is amazing at the things that he does for his people!!!

As I looked on the field I could remember my own children just like they were playing yesterday.

As many have heard by now I have been diagnosed with Cancer again. I will be receiving my treatment in Little Rock. I have had two weeks of chemotherapy already, had a new port placed by my great co workers and the wonderful staff of the Heart Hospital. The side effects of chemo are worse than last time,, I have had to take short term disability because the treatments are weekly very unpredictable.

At this stage I am so angry,,,I feel like Ive done all that I was supposed to do and it came back!!! They told me that I would have less than a 10% chance of a recurrence,,,, I know that I'm special but I didn't want to be in that 10%!!!!

Im loosing ny hair already,, just got it grown out a little bit and having fun with it!! These are the little things that I can grip about,,, I feel like I have the Flew, my bones ache and I have a fever,, feel tired,,boohoo...

God will get to claim victory over this situation again. Please remember to pray for my family,, my parents are so upset that I have to go thru this again. Pray that they will find peace and know that God has it all under control.

My Spring Break ended with a trip to Rogers to see Chase and Ashley.

A Productive Week!!

Its been a while since I have done any Scrap booking so Veronica and I signed up for Brandi's class last week.

Veronica is very talented and loved the class,,, so now we are going to this weeks class also!!I have made her a work area in my Scrap book nook!! She is excited to be able to create her visit in the USA thru a Scrap book of her own!!

Clinton came over and helped me with photoshop last week and that has helped me so much. If I could steal his brain for a bout a month I think I could figure that thing out!!

Darrell is sick again. I feel so bad when he is not well. Pray that he can get his diabetes under control and stop having these recurring infections!! And for his Energy level to return!!!

I NEED AN INTERVENTION!!!

Of course I have another problem that I cant figure out!!!!!! I cant order any prints from my new camera!!! No matter who I order thru they say my Image is to large!!!! The ladies a Walgreen's tried to adjust my camera but its still not working!!!

Thank goodness for family and friends that always help me out!!!

Jainy and I went to see Never say Never this evening. She and every young girl in the world has a crush on this little cutie.

When we made plans to see a movie I was expecting to see Gonemio and Juliet,, but Jainy has grown up and had a different movie in mind!!!! We had a good time and she loved the movie. She says that she will mary him one day.

Snow Days

What a winter to remember. We have had so much snow this year. Yes, I'm one of the crazy people that enjoy the snow.

I got some very exciting news this week!!!! Chase and Ashley are having a Baby!!! I admit that Ive been ready for them to have one for at least one year. My friends and co-workers know that Ive had baby fever.

Veronica is still enjoying the snow!!! Eva Lauren wouldn't get out of the truck to let me take her picture!! She said that I have millions of her and that it was to cold!!!

We went to Yoshi Japanese steak House today!!! It was wonderful!!!

No Razorback Game for me,, just plan on finishing Mercy by Jodi Picoult that I had started reading while we were on the cruise.

Pete may have finally meet his match!!!

We spent a couple days at Pete and Honey's house in South Texas. The weather was so nice,, 80 degrees in December!!! We had coffee by the pool any chased cows in the pasture on the "MULE".

Honey had the house decorated so pretty!!! Everything was so comfy and warm!!! The girls had a craft night where we made our own decorated light box!!! We had a great time!!

Pete has the most beautiful pond on his place stocked full of fish!! This is their cow dog named Bert!!! He loves to fish also!!! Darrell caught several,, but not without Bert standing and waiting to help!!

Kirk and Amy came by,, it was great to see them again!!!!

I face trials everyday in my life just as everyone does, my feelings get hurt, my pride gets knocked down. Somehow God gives me the strength to get back up and keep on going.

I'm so thankful that I'm cancer free and can share my story with so many women who are facing the same problem.

I'm thankful for my family. I love each and every one of you sooo much!!!
